Meet Owners Mark and Becky Leuer
Mark and Becky Leuer, co-owners of Right at Home Northwest Phoenix, opened their first Right at Home in May 2008 and acquired an office in Mesa in 2011.
Why Did We Get Into the Home Care Business?
Becky's father had a severe stroke in October 2007. Beck left her job and went to Albuquerque, NM to help her mother for a few months. When she was ready to head back to Phoenix, reality set in. Who was going to help dad when she got home and mom is at work? With limited family in the area who also had jobs, where can she turn for help? How can we find someone qualified and trustworthy to help? We had to scramble and had friends that would help and mom relied on her employees to pick up the slack at her store. We saw for ourselves there was very limited help when a loved one comes home after a hospital or rehabilitation stay.
Since Becky was now unemployed, we decided to look into home care as a new business for ourselves. We visited five home care agencies and Right at Home stood out among the crowd. "They showed us that we would be part of a family home care business, not just a business," Becky said.
Clients and their family members are the most rewarding part of the business. Family members are always thankful and express their gratitude time and time again, while our clients continue to tell us how wonderful our caregivers and office staff are. "It's a very rewarding business, and we feel we do make a big difference." - The Leuers

Amanda Melland
Lead Caregiver
I became a mother of two beautiful boys. My co-workers and residents were like family. I worked there for about 10 years before I went and worked in Assisted Living. From there I went and worked in the biggest hospital in Spokane Washington called Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital Where i worked for 6 years. I spent 4 years working on the Ortho and Trauma floor and 2 years in the float pool working every floor in the hospital including the Emergency Department, ICU, Cardiac, Oncology and more.
A year ago I moved back to Arizona with my boys and fur pup. I started working with Right at Home soon after moving here in October of 2021. I have worked as a caregiver for them for 5 months before I became the Lead Caregiver and moved on into becoming office Staff. I love my job and I have really enjoyed getting to know all our clients and caregivers. Working in the office has been a challenge that I have enjoyed. It has also been a complete blessing to work with such amazing people. It also gives me the ability to be home more with my children and to watch them grow and do sports.

Ashtyn Pace
Caregiver
Ashtyn has been with our Right at Home family since September of 2022. We couldn't be more excited to have her.
Hi, I'm Ashtyn. I've been an "unofficial" caregiver for about 9 years now. I finally decided to make a career of it in 2022. The reason I became a caregiver and the reason I've been an "unofficial" caregiver is because of my brother-in-law. He has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and completely relies on others to take care of him. When I first met him, it was just a natural feeling to jump in and help whenever needed. I wanted to help other people as well, so I became a caregiver!
The sweetest memory I have is from my main client. I crochet as a hobby and I usually crochet after she goes to bed. When she wakes up in the morning, I'm usually working on something and so I show her my current project and we talk. With her dementia, she often forgets things. Every time she sees me crocheting, she lights up and raves about how much talent I have and tells me I should sell my stuff. She gets so excited like she's never seen me crochet before. It's adorable and I love seeing how excited she gets like a kid at Christmas! Seeing her get so happy is definitely always a highlight of my day!
