Our Mission
Put simply, our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve. Of course, we recognize that everyone’s idea of “quality of life” is different, which is why it’s so important to us to make you an active part of your own care plan. We want you to be in the driver’s seat regardless of any limitations or challenges you’re facing.
Most of all, we believe aging isn’t just about staying healthy, safe and independent. It’s also about living well.
Owner of Right at Home Northwest Pittsburgh, Jim Duchak
A personal testament to the value of quality care when it comes to your loved ones.
For Jim and his wife Vera (pictured left), providing quality home care for seniors was inspired by a very personal, shared experience between the two. Years ago, after the passing of Jim's mother, his father came to live with the couple. Jim's father eventually required extra care, and the two soon experienced home care face to face. With caregivers visiting their home on occasion to help with his father's care, Jim and Vera soon recognized a lack of quality in the care he was receiving.
To Jim and Vera, Providing the Best Care Was Essential
When the couple started their Right at Home agency, they were determined to provide a service far better than what they experienced with their loved one.
"We learned a lot from those early experiences," said Jim. "As a result, we hire the best caregivers we can find, and we always provide excellent communication with family members. If we couldn't fill a shift, either myself or Vera would cover it and do whatever it took to meet the client's needs."
Five years later, that early commitment to excellent service and dependability has earned Right At Home North Pittsburgh a reputation for doing "whatever it takes" to get the job done.
In Loving Memory of an Incredible Wife, Mother, Daughter & Caretaker Who Impacted The Lives of Many
With deepest sorrow of all who loved her, Vera lost a courageous, six-year battle with cancer in September of 2014.
Vera was a sensational woman. She was a wife, mother, daughter and caretaker who showed others the true definition of being loved and cared for. She made an impact in the lives of numerous people and it was something she loved to do. Vera is and always will be deeply loved and missed.
A plaque (pictured to the left) hangs in the Right at Home North Pittsburgh office as a tribute to her memory, and to honor her dream and her love for the clients and staff.
Jim is determined to continue managing the agency with the same commitment and dedication to quality service that he and Vera intended when they began the company. He resides in lower Butler County and enjoys spending time with their kids and grandkids, as well as an occasional sporting events.
In honor of his wife Vera, Jim attends Hair Peace Charities' annual program each year. The organization
helps females battling cancer in the 412 and 724 area codes with financial assistance to purchase a wig.
