Owner Jeff Welsh

Jeff and Beverly Welsh

Jeffrey A. Welsh was raised in the Detroit, Michigan area. His father practiced medicine and his mother cut short nursing school to raise the family. In 1979 Jeff graduated from Michigan State University where he studied social work, but later added business courses and earned a B.A. in Personnel Administration.

After graduation, Jeff joined General Motors as a Public Relations Field Representative promoting science and technology and generating publicity through news outlets.

He has also held positions in Sales Management, has been a Co-owner and CEO of a multi-unit restaurant business, Chief Operating Officer of an educational franchise system, and Professional Consultant to a variety of aspiring business owners. In 1992, he earned an M.B.A. at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Jeff started his Right at Home business in Oakland County in early 2007. Later, he added territories in Macomb county and eastern Wayne County. Along with his staff of nurses, administrators and care providers he works hard every day to maintain a good reputation. He is an innovator; always looking for ways to provide the best care even in difficult circumstances. In 2018, Right at Home Tri-County Metro earned accreditation from The Joint Commission, a symbol of quality for organizations that meet certain performance standards in the health care field.

Jeff serves on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Chapter of the Home Care Association of America, and the Quality of Life Committee of the Oakland County Business Round Table. Currently Jeff and his wife Bev live in Clarkston, Michigan. They enjoy travel, golf, visiting with their friends and families, and their dogs Ellie and Dash.

Our Founder, Allen Hager. Our Founder, Allen Hager.

Our History

During his years working as a hospital administrator, our founder Allen Hager watched many patients, especially seniors, leave the hospital and return home. But they did not necessarily return to health. Allen found that, once at home, a lot of his former patients were unable to care for themselves. He knew that with a little help, most of these people could lead healthy, happy lives in their homes. This became the idea for Right at Home.

After talking to dozens of families about the challenges they faced and what kinds of care would help, he became a certified nursing assistant to experience firsthand the needs of people who required professional assistance to continue living at home.

Today, with the help of Allen’s insights, Right at Home has grown to over 600 locations that serve tens of thousands of clients across the U.S. and around the world.

Our Mission

Put simply, our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve. Of course, we recognize that everyone’s idea of “quality of life” is different, which is why it’s so important to us to make you an active part of your own care plan. We want you to be in the driver’s seat regardless of any limitations or challenges you’re facing.

Most of all, we believe aging isn’t just about staying healthy, safe and independent. It’s also about living well.
