There are meetings every month on the 2nd Friday of the month. Refreshments are available, and attendance is free of charge! Every month there is a new topic and speaker to enlighten those who attend with some pertinent and often life changing info. These speakers are incredibly qualified and experts in the field. Some of the previous speakers have been clinical psychologists, doctors, and fitness professionals.
This month’s topic is “How to Become a “Dementia Friend”, presented by Kelly Honda, from Alzheimer’s Los Angeles. Five key messages about dementia will be presented, along with steps to develop plans in aiding those with dementia in your community. This meeting of Alzheimer’s Café will be on October 12th, 2018 at the Pasadena Senior Center.
Kelly will speak about becoming a Dementia Friend by completing this one-hour session. Learn five key messages about dementia and develop action steps to help your community. Each participant will receive a Dementia Friend Pin and become a member of this global movement developed by the Alzheimer's Society in the United Kingdom. After presentation there will be a time for Q&A.
These presentations provide education for community members to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and brain health.
