Meet Our Therapy Pets - Kaya and Newton!
Right at Home of Maumee is honored to have a Pet Therapy program, taking a unique approach to comforting seniors in their homes.
Our office prides ourselves on offering the best human companionship services for area seniors. Kaya the therapy cat and Newton the therapy dog help provide seniors with companion caring. Kaya is hypoallergenic and very personable. She loves being snuggled. Newton loves to visit people, be touched, patted and is safe for all environments.
Get to know Kaya -
Kaya is a Siberian cat who won't make you sneeze. Her breed is hypoallergenic and very personable. She loves being in the company of people, and is extra good with cuddles. Kaya has very soft fur and blue eyes which is prized for centuries in Russia. Although her fur is long, she doesn't require much maintenance, as she tends to stay tangle free.
Get to know Newton -
Newton is a 5 year old golden doodle who shares what Right at Home desires, to assist Maumee area seniors remain happy, healthy and improve the quality of life for those we serve. Newtown is the loyal caregiving companion by Right at Home Maumee owner John Baldwin. John has over 20 years of therapy dog experience.
Where can Newton and Kaya go?
Newton and Kaya help seniors as they travel across the northwest Ohio area. They visit homes, assisted living facilities, independent living centers and rehab rooms bringing joy and warmth to your loved ones.
Years of experience have ensured that Newton is properly trained and respectful around any environment. Kaya is a new addition to our program and is adjusting to all of the extra love and affection just fine.

Why a Therapy Dog or Therapy Cat?
Studies have shown that therapy pets can help seniors live longer by boosting health of the sick and lonely. Newton is a certified therapy dog by Therapy Dog International. Seniors and caregivers love interacting with Newton and Kaya.
