Older American's Month
Every May, the Administration for Community Living leads our nation’s observance of Older Americans Month. This event took place May 1st 2019 at Washoe County Senior Services. The 2019 theme was, "Connect, Create, Contribute", and encouraged older adults and their communities to:
- Connect with friends, family, and services that support participation.
- Create by engaging in activities that promote learning, health, and personal enrichment.
- Contribute time, talent, and life experience to benefit others.
Communities that encourage the contributions of older adults are stronger! By engaging and supporting all community members, we recognize that older adults play a key role in the vitality of our neighborhoods, networks, and lives.
At Right at Home we are proud to support seniors through our mission of "improving quality of life for those we serve"

Groundbreaking Ceremony for Northern Nevada Veteran's Home
Right at Home senior staff were present along with Governor Sandoval, Senator Heller, and many other dignitaries, not to mention a raucous crowd of veterans, to witness the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Northern Nevada Veteran’s Home, a long planned skilled nursing home for our regions most vulnerable elderly Veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star Parents. This 102,000 square-foot facility will have 92 beds, and was championed by Governor Sandoval, who recognized the need when he realized that the nearest similar facility was hundreds of miles away. The Veteran’s Home is projected to be completed by December of 2018 and will also include a coffee shop, chapel, and a dining hall. We were proud to come out and support our veterans at this event, and are also proud to let the community know that we are now part of the VA Home Based Community Care Program, through which Right at Home of Reno is able to take care of impoverished, home-bound, and disabled senior veterans in our region and help to keep them living safely in their own homes for as long as possible. Thank you to all Veterans for your service!!

3rd Annual Perry Foundation Golf Tournament
On August 25th 2016, Right at Home Reno was proud to be a sponsor for the 3rd annual Perry Foundation Drive for Quality Golf Tournament at scenic Red Hawk Golf Course in Sparks. This year the tournament was held on the “Hills” course, and Right at Home’s table was at the apex of the course, Hole #10’s tee box area, which provided for some great views of the surrounding area. The Perry Foundation is a Las Vegas based non-profit charitable foundation that sees a future where the post-acute care community works together to build integrity, efficiency, and service excellence for Nevada’s post-acute care consumers and providers. We are happy to be a part of their flagship Northern Nevada fundraising and outreach event for the second year in a row and salute their efforts to bring the elder care community together and spark dialogue about how we can all work together to better deliver the highest quality of care to our Seniors!
Mountain View Community Health Fair
On September 10, Right at Home Reno participated in the 2nd annual Alzheimer's Health Fair and Carnival at Mountain View Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Carson City. There were raffles, games, live music, food, and most importantly, thousands of dollars were raised to further research efforts by the Alzheimer’s Association to find a cure for Alzheimer’s/Dementia! This was the second year that Right at Home Reno has participated in this great event and we look forward to continued participation in the future. Special thanks to all who came out to support the event and helped raise money for the Alzheimer's Association’s tireless efforts to find a cure for Alzheimer’s/Dementia!
