Dan Parker, Owner
When Dan Parker left the U.S. Navy from his last duty station, Moffet Field Naval Air Station, in Mountain View, CA., he jumped into the exciting world of high technology. From building printed circuit boards to building computer systems with start-up Sun Microsystems. Dan spent the next 30+ years working in manufacturing environments as senior management responsible for production of high quality products. Owning a home care business was not yet on his radar.
In 2007, Dan was then Director of Operations for a Semi-Conductor Equipment Manufacturing Company in Morgan Hill, Ca. He decided to make a move to the Sacramento area where he met and then married Jill Blackwelder, Associate Vice Chancellor at U.C. Davis. While planning his move, it became clear that manufacturing had few opportunities in the Sacramento area. After doing their research, Dan and Jill made the decision to start a business by working with Right at Home, Inc. a provider of home care for seniors and disabled adults headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.
After completing training in Omaha, Dan and Jill opened the doors on Right at Home Sacramento-Davis in February of 2008. Dan and Jill liked the idea of being able to give back to the community and felt Right at Home was very well positioned to do so. Now in their tenth year of business providing care for seniors and their families all over the Sacramento region, they look back on the service they have been able to provide with a sense of accomplishment. Dan and Jill Parker have positioned Right at Home Sacramento-Davis to continue forward as a premier provider of home care and staffing services to families and senior care communities in Metro Sacramento.
Dan works today to try and bring the same kind of efficiency he was able to build into manufacturing operations into his Right at Home operation through continuous improvement and use of technology to streamline the organization. With hard work, the building of a strong staff, and a lot of perseverance, Dan and his team have built an effective home care business that provides excellent care in the Metro area. With an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, membership in Right at Home’s President Circle, and his recent election by his peers to the Franchise Advisory Council, Dan is set to provide leadership in the Right at Home system as well as his own business here in Sacramento well into the future.
Although being a small business owner is always challenging, particularly in an industry that is seeing dynamic changes, Dan feels that he and his team are on the right track. He often tells his staff and employees that it is always about doing the right thing, making the best decisions you can each and every day, and the rest will take care of itself. And, oh yeah, “Failure is Not an Option.”

Hello everyone! My name is Lyndsey Franceschi and I am the Director of Client Relations for Right at Home where we provide in-home care and assistance to seniors and disabled adults. Since starting with Right at Home in 2011, I have learned many aspects of the in-home care industry. Some of these areas include managing the office and doing the hands-on staffing, as well as marketing, conducting client assessments, and overseeing daily operations.
After I graduated High School I attended Community College while working full time as a customer service representative at a local corrugated box plant and then a chemical Management company. Shortly after marrying my high school sweetheart, Rob, my Dad asked me to move to Sacramento to work for his in-home care company. Although it was a big move for us, it seemed like good timing and a great opportunity to do something I was passionate about. In fact, once we moved Rob’s grandparents needed around-the-clock care and so we cared for both until they passed, which was an honor to be able to do for them. I always tell myself “everything happens for a reason.”
Just like any other field, we face challenges, but the smiles on our client’s faces as well as the peace of mind of their loved ones keeps me driven to being the best, because every one of our clients deserve it. Since then, I feel very fulfilled that we have been able to help so many people stay in their homes longer than they would have without the help.
Throughout the years, I have learned a lot not only about the senior care industry and how it operates, but I have also learned a lot about life and more importantly, quality of life. Since I started at Right at Home I have become a mother to two wonderful children: My Son, RJ and my daughter, Amaleah. I choose to live my life to the fullest, doing what I love, and spending my time with whom mean the most to me. I have always believed that we should treat others as we would like to be treated and this shines bright in the senior community. I will keep striving to increase the standard of care so that we can continue to add quality of life to our clients and show people what aging in place should really look like.
My name is Lori Pettig and I am the Business Office Manager for Right at Home Sacramento. Right at Home provides in home care to the senior population and disabled adults. I have been with Right at Home since February 2014.
My role with Right at Home consists of many responsibilities. I Recruit and Hire most of the employees that provide the care for our clients. I love this part of my job, because I know in my heart when we hire the best, then we will provide the best care. I also do Payroll, Billing and Scheduling.
I had been working in a different field for many years then one day I went to an Art Show hosted by The Alzheimer’s Association, and quickly realized that working in this field was what I wanted to do for the rest of my career. I have been working in the Senior Living Industry for over 20 years. Alzheimer’s Dementia has always been my true passion.
Over the course of the last 20 years I have had the pleasure of working in many different capacities, Activities, Administrator, Business Office, but I find that being a part of the Right at Home Team is the most rewarding. When I am not at work, I am a Wife to a Wonderful Husband, a Mom to 3 Beautiful Children and a Nana, to 7 Awesome Grandchildren.
Hello, My name is Madalynn Diaz but prefer to be called “Maddi”. I am the Adminstrator for Right at Home, in addition to scheduling, I also handle matching the right caregiver to our clients. Before coming into the office, I was a caregiver for Right at Home. I worked every day, often providing care for multiple clients in a day. I truly enjoyed working hands on with my clients and being the person who made a difference in their day to day lives. Although I am in the office now, I still go out into the field to perform supervisor visits, introductions, and even still provide care for a few clients. With my new position, I can now ensure that every client will get the best care they deserve by assigning a caregiver who will be a great fit.
Before I started working in the home care field, I was living in San Jose and was working for a police department as a traffic officer/ parking enforcement. It was this job that planted the seed of love for helping people. Once I relocated to Sacramento I knew I wanted that same gratification in my employment. Becoming a Home Health Aide was the best decision I made. Not only can I care for people in need but they were so happy to see me walk in to their homes. I only hope as Adminstrator that all our clients are happy to see their Right at Home, caregiver. I am passionate and dedicated to providing the best care possible for everyone.
When I’m not in the office or field, I enjoy taking my dog Samson out for walks. I have lived in Sacramento for over a year now and I’m constantly learning and exploring the city. I would call Sacramento my home and love being a part of such a great city. Right at Home has welcomed me with open arms and given myself the sense of belonging. I love working for a team and being part of something bigger than myself. I’m confident in every staff member and will always give each day my very best effort.
Hello, my name is Kayla Hudler. I am the Staffing Coordinator for Right at Home. I handle the scheduling, as well as the matching of caregivers to clients. Before I started as the Staffing Coordinator in the office, I was a caregiver with Right at Home for 2 months out in the field. And prior to that, I was a caregiver with Interim Healthcare for almost 2 years.
I enjoyed the fieldwork of being a caregiver, mostly because I made a difference in the daily life of my clients. Although I miss seeing my clients regularly, I still ensure they are getting the care they expect and deserve by matching our caregivers to the clients, and doing monthly check-ins with our clients to make sure they are happy with the services we provide. Occasionally, I still get to go out in the field, and provide care for our clients when I’m needed.
Before I became a caregiver with Right at Home, I lived in the Napa Valley where I was born and raised. Most of my family still lives there, and I visit frequently. When I’m not in the office, or out in the field, I love spending time with my family. I have a 4-year-old daughter, Avelynn. I also have a 3-year-old step son, Kalani. They are the absolute joys of my life, along with significant other, Zack. Being a mother, caregiving came very naturally to me and was an easy thing that I grew to absolutely love. I have always enjoyed helping other people, and I have a big heart for the people I care for. That’s a big reason why I take my position as staffing coordinator very seriously, because I want to make sure the clients we care for are getting nothing but the absolute best, and they are being cared for the way I would want my own family members cared for. I am always learning and growing as an individual, and am always willing to help out my team when they need me.
The Right at Home - Sacramento/Davis team is a great one to be a part of, and have accepted me with open arms. I am very confident that with my team of amazing caregivers, and the support of the office staff behind me, Right at Home will go far and continue to provide excellence.
