Mary SchneiderBackground:  She has been with Right at Home Salt Lake since May of 2012. She has 3 ½ years as a Caregiver with Right at Home and was a private Caregiver before that. She completed her AAA CNA training in 2011. She has experience in Alzheimer/Dementia diseases, Hospice, transfer assists, personal care, first aid, and CPR. From 2000, she has been a Personal Coach in Mind/Body/Spirit connection and alternative healing modalities. She was born and raised in Philadelphia. Moved to Salt Lake City in 1976. Retired from Corporate America at age 50.

What do you love about being a caregiver: The flexibility, the variety, and the exposure to different cultures and beliefs is what she loves about being a Caregiver and she loves getting to know people at such a pivotal transition time in their life. Mary likes to cook simple, healthy meals. Her favorite recipes are hearty soups and stews and dishes made in the crock pot. Mary is closer in age to most of the Clients and believes she can relate to them better, due to her life experience.

Favorite hobbies or talents: Mary likes to stay current on functional medicine trends and alternative healing modalities, regularly practices yoga and meditation and has taught both. Mary has great organizational and writing skills. She can help Clients organize their homes and record their life histories.

Current goals:  Mary hopes to travel to other countries. So far, Mary has visited India, Turkey, Bosnia, France, Switzerland and England. Mary likes to experience how other cultures live.

Meghan MurrayBackground: She has been with Right at Home since May of 2015. Her background is Home Health working towards her CNA with 4 years of caregiving experience. She has experience in Alzheimer/Dementia diseases, transfer assists, bed baths, bathing, first aid, CPR and hospice care.

She was raised in New York and took care of her Grandmother who lived next door to her and her family. She has worked in a home setting with mentally and physically disabled men, and in home care with elderly clients and clients with disabilities.

What do you love about being a caregiver: Being able to make others' lives easier and becoming a new friend, providing care for others, learning about the clients, holding conversation and doing things clients like to do

Raisa Lozano

Caregiving experience and background: I was born in Lima, Peru and raised there until I was 10 years old. My mom worked for five or six years as a caregiver in Italy and another year in the United States. I knew a little and used to be with her while she worked. Recently, i was in Peru for a few months and I took care of my grandmother for a couple of days per week. I cooked, cleaned, assisted her in the shower and helped her get dressed.

What do you love about being a caregiver: I get to help elderly people. It is like doing service to others and when I know they are happy, I feel happy too.

Favorite hobbies or talents: Listening to music, latin dancing, watching Korean soap operas, cooking, baking, drawing, playing violin

Current goals: I want to get involved more in caring for people. I'm going to start a pre-nursing program at the University of Utah.
