Co-Owner

Hello! I am Gulraj Shahpuri and I am the co-owner of Right at Home - Peninsula, where we provide in-home care and assistance to seniors and disabled adults.

It is such a privilege to work with seniors and their families to improve their quality of life. Sincerity and service are so important in giving a family peace of mind, and we do whatever it takes to provide that personal touch.

It’s not easy when we see a loved one struggling or in any sort of discomfort. I know this first hand. When both my parents were diagnosed with advanced cancer, I took on tremendous responsibilities during their final stages. I understand the complex issues that families face as they become caregivers to their parents while managing their own day-to-day lives of family and work. I saw first-hand the important role that caregivers can play in making the situation more comfortable for all members of the family.

Today, I am blessed with my loving wife and two wonderful children. I have dedicated my life to supporting the community I live in and to providing quality care to its seniors. Seeing their lives become more comfortable through companionship and assistance from the right caregivers is very rewarding.

Earlier, I have been a leadership coach and worked with thousands of people to transform their professional lives, ultimately supporting the scale-up of 300+ businesses from diverse sectors. This experience taught me how to people be the best they can be for their companies and for the communities that they live in. But in my heart, I knew, my true calling was serving seniors and I am glad to Right at Home has given me the opportunity to do just this.

Every day I get to meet the seniors we serve and I get to know their families better. Each day is a day well spent for me.

Co-Owner

Hi, I am Amri Shahpuri and I am the co-owner of Right at Home – Peninsula, with my husband Gulraj. Though Right at Home is one of the largest names in in-home senior care in the country, I’m happy they appointed us in the region because we intended to operate the agency as a family.

I have a Genetics degree from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the University of London. I have worked in many regions, internationally, and have a keen interest in learning about various cultures and social conditions so that I can serve those communities.

I had an education-based start-up, in India, which was the first organization in the country to incorporate soft skills into the Indian school curricula at the national level. I also lead the philanthropy function in India for the US-founded non-profit organization Khan Academy.

Making a shift to senior care has been tremendously rewarding. We all want to have dignity as we age and I've found my passion in finding just the right caregivers to help each of our clients. When your heart is in it, the right outcomes arise.
