Honored for Outstanding Caregiving
"It's very rewarding. What you give you get back. And the people, they're just marvelous. They need somebody. Not all of the people have family here. You, in essence, walk in and you are a new member of their family." - Vicky-Lee Layden, Caregiver of the Year
The Home Care Association of America (HCAOA), the leading trade association for the home care industry representing more than 2,500 companies, selected our caregiver Vicky-Lee Layden as the HCAOA Caregiver of the Year. She has worked for Right at Home in Sarasota for nearly two years.
The HCAOA honored Layden during a special ceremony at the organization’s Annual Leadership Conference in Austin, Texas.
Recognizing and honoring caregivers is an important part of HCAOA’s overall culture,” said Phil Bongiorno, Executive Director, HCAOA. “The Caregiver of the Year award allows us to recognize individuals, like Vicky-Lee, for their extraordinary commitment to the delivery of care to their clients and the families they serve on a daily basis.”
After her personal incident, Layden decided to become a professional caregiver in 2013, driven to give back to others in the same manner she was helped.
“Vicky-Lee epitomizes what we call RightCare—the right people doing the right things the right way for the right reason. She makes life better for every client she touches, and we are lucky to have her on our team.” - Michael Juceam
