Right at Home Scottsdale is a family-run business owned and operated by my husband Chris and me. Our desire to be owners of a Right at Home - Home Care Agency began with our passion to advocate for seniors who desire control over where and how they age.
Chris has been a pharmacist for 25 years, graduating from University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Pharmacy, and has extensive experience working in senior communities. He sees firsthand the quality of life and spread of relief within their families when providing comprehensive, quality care to seniors where they are located.
I began my career as a special education teacher 20 years ago after graduating from Newman University School with a BS in Education and Emporia State University with an MS in Instructional Design and Technology. While in college, I worked as an in-home caregiver to children with disabilities and loved caring for people in their homes. I also saw the benefit caregivers provide when my grandmother and mother required services in the home during their times of need.
Our greatest accomplishments have been our loving children, son, Ramsey, 16 and daughter, Tatum, 14. Our children and three dogs, Sally, Lucy and Bart, keep our home filled with humor, contentment, love and challenges we feel fortunate to have. We cherish each day with our family and are proud to see our children developing into responsible and compassionate people. They volunteer, tutor, teach piano lessons, babysit, and both have desires to serve others.
Chris and I will work in tandem as owners and operators of Right at Home Scottsdale. I will oversee the daily operations of supporting caregivers and running the business while Chris reaches out and offers support and education to our team and community. He began speaking to assisted living and skilled nursing communities 20 years ago in El Dorado, Kansas and misses the regular connections he had with senior communities.
The highlight of Chris’ career has been speaking directly to people to offer needed information on a variety of topics. He enjoys educating communities on current trending topics, such as medications (purpose of medication, how it should be taken, missing a dose, side effects, interactions with food, recalls), insurance questions, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure/cholesterol, cancer, respiratory diseases, Alzheimer’s Disease, osteoporosis, influenza/pneumonia, falls, shingles and depression, to name a few.
In addition to Right at Home’s rigorous Right at Home University training, Chris offers our caregivers certifications in continuing education courses on trending topics. Look for a blog and FAQs from Chris, our pharmacist, on our website soon! We want to reach as many people as possible and recognize how critical this information is to our community. With education and health care being our backgrounds, supporting and educating our most cherished population is a priority for us.
We look forward to serving you!
