Meet Your Local Right at Home Team
Ben Solomon - Owner
Ben Solomon - Owner and Administrator
My role: It is my responsibility to make sure that Right at Home lives up to its mission of improving the lives of those we serve. At Right at Home we take pride in serving our clients who may be seniors, or adults with disabilities, and also their families and those who care for them. I have assembled a team of managers and senior care professionals who collaborate to support our care teams, community partners, clients and their families with the goal of providing the highest quality and timely care throughout King, Pierce, and South Snohomish Counties.
I opened the first Right at Home in Seattle in 2004 and have since expanded to Bellevue and Tacoma over the past thirteen years, serving thousands of our seniors and their families. We have been recognized as President Council Members in the Right at Home system for ten years, and have expanded our services from personal care and caregiving to skilled nursing, since 2007.
I am an active member of the Washington State Home Care Association and served on the board for three years. I have also served on the Pierce County Fall Prevention Coalition and host a weekly radio show on KIXI 880AM, Right at Home Senior Care Living, introducing our listeners to resources and professionals in the senior care community.
What motivates me: I take personal satisfaction in knowing that every day we help clients lead more fulfilling and rewarding lives, inspired by the quote from Adlai Stevenson: It is not the years in your life but the life in your years that count. I have never met a person who has a goal of living their golden years in a nursing home. I am dedicated to helping as many community members as possible live their lives under their terms.
Why I love my job: One family we worked with early on at Right at Home wished that we could help their father who recently had a stroke live long enough to see his youngest daughter walk down the aisle. Not only did this father live to see his daughter get married, but also lived to experience the joys of becoming a grandfather, trips to the family home on the San Juan Islands, and numerous celebrations with his family for many years.
Tina Solomon - Vice President
Tina Solomon - Vice President, Administration
My role: I am honored to oversee Right at Home’s Human Resources department and ensure that our policies are compliant with State and Federal law. I work closely with new employees around compliance issues and monitor that they stay current as relates to continuing education and other requirements. I collaborate with our Operations and Accounting teams regularly, and always enjoy working directly with care staff.
What Motivates Me: I especially enjoy the opportunity to work one-on-one with caregivers and nurses as they progress in their careers, starting from the moment they apply to work with Right at Home, to attending orientation, to seeing them thrive in their role directly helping members of our community. Hearing their stories and how much they enjoy working with Right at Home and helping to improve the lives of our clients motivates me every day. And it’s always great when they point out how organized and proactive our company is.
Why I love my job: I love to learn and grow, and every day at Right at Home presents a new opportunity to do so. Home care and home health is a complex industry and it’s an honor to collaborate with a great team to ensure that our care staff are well-prepared and ready to expertly assist clients.
Stacy Wood - Bookkeeper
Stacy Wood - Bookkeeper
My role: My goal is for the billing and payroll process to run smoothly and to provide excellent customer service when assistance is needed by clients or caregivers. I share tasks such as accounts payable/ receivable, billing and payroll. I primarily oversee billing and payments from our private pay customers, and ensure accuracy and timely billing. I also work with care staff on benefits and ensure that our agency is complying with federal and state requirements.
What motivates me: My cousin was hit by a car at the young age of 19. The result of the accident was Traumatic Brain Injury. He would need 24/7 in home care for the rest of his life. I am truly passionate about this industry because of my family’s experience. I am not the type of person that can care for an individual the way our nurses and caregivers do. They have a gift. But I can be a part of the bigger picture in the accounting department. Making sure our care staff and clients feel supported, being available and gaining trust over time. Money is hard to talk about sometimes, I’m here to make it easier if I can.
Why I love my job: I enjoy helping caregivers and client with questions about our payroll or billing processes and find it rewarding to bring clarity to something that may be confusing. I enjoy the detective work of looking up discrepancy and the gratification of reconciling statements and running reports. A clean balance sheet makes my day!
Maureen McCormick - DON
Maureen McCormick - Director of Nursing
My role: As Right at Home’s Director of Nursing, I am responsible for conducting nursing assessments, care updates, and making sure that Right at Home is delivering on our promise of providing outstanding care to our clients. My job requires me to visit clients, review care notes, and talk to my nurses to make sure we are identifying and addressing care needs before they become critical.
What motivates me: As a nurse for over 50 years I have always enjoyed helping people meet their full potential. I find great satisfaction in working with clients who have critical care needs and through good nursing practices improve to lead fulfilling lives.
Why I love my job: I have worked for Right at Home since 2004 and really enjoy the interaction I have with my clients. In addition to addressing their nursing needs, I find that many of our clients are isolated and cherish the ability to speak with me about their health. I find great satisfaction in helping my clients and their families find answers to their questions and hopefully piece of mind
Hali Downs - Client Care
Hali Downs - Client Care Coordinator
My role: As a Client Care Coordinator my primary responsibility is to talk with potential clients and families whom are looking for assistance. I love to go out and do our free assessments as it gives me an idea on what the needs are of our potential client and which caregiver may be a good match. I also work with the Nursing team to schedule and match our nurses with clients.
What motivates me: I have been working in gerontology for the past nine years with a specialized focus in Alzheimer and Dementia care. I moved from Vancouver, Canada in December 2016 and found a home with the Right at Home team. I am motivated by the "Right Care" that we provide, as it is so personalized to the needs of clients and their families.
Why I love my job: I recently met with a client who was deemed high risk due to having dementia with aggressive behavior. Other agencies refused to work with them and the family members were overwhelmed. Being able to provide resources and writing a very specific care plan with detailed calming techniques and approaches have drastically changed this clients’ behavior. Visiting them weeks later and seeing a big smile on the client’s face has been so rewarding and affirming.
Anna Klikan -Scheduling
Anna Klikan - Scheduling Coordinator
My role: As a scheduling Coordinator, my primary task is to ensure that each scheduled shift is filled with a qualified caregiver who is well matched to the client. I have worked in the senior care industry for the last five years, and I find a great sense of satisfaction in a role where I am able to facilitate quality in-home care for each client.
What motivates me: I was raised by a single father, and my paternal grandmother played a huge role in my childhood. When I was eleven my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, and I had the privilege of being part of her care team throughout my teen years. The experience of caring for my grandmother and watching others care for her left me with a heart that is passionate about caring for the vulnerable and the elderly.
Why I love my job: I love collaborating with my colleagues to find the best care solutions for every client we serve. I believe strongly that companies are most effective when everyone works for a unified goal, and our goal is to improve the quality of life for those we serve.
Chad Brower- Scheduling
Chad Brower - Scheduling Coordinator, Pierce County
My role: My primary responsibility as an Office Coordinator is to staff all of Pierce County's clients with the correct fit in a caregiver to provide the best and most appropriate care for their individual care needs. I speak with potential clients and families who are looking for assistance to truly understand their needs and also manage our homemaker service clients. I provide ongoing support to clients, families, and our caregivers to ensure that we are delivering the best possible care.
What motivates me: I’ve always wanted to work in a field where I could help people. I started with getting my Certified Nursing Assistant license and worked as a caregiver for Right at Home. When the opportunity became available, I moved into the Office Coordinator position. I love what I do now because instead of making a difference in one client's life as a caregiver, I have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of all of our clients.
Why I love my job: All client experiences are special to me. The most rewarding is hearing how much we have helped improve the quality of life for those we serve. And knowing that are caregivers come to work with a smile on their faces.
