Right at Home of Southeast South Dakota is based in Sioux Falls and is owned and operated by Tony and Kari Mau. Tony has over 25 years in the professional services industry. He believes communication is the key to helping clients and family members arrive at decisions with which they can be comfortable. Tony also serves as President of the South Dakota Parkinson Foundation.
Kari holds a psychology degree from Concordia College. Upon graduation, she moved to Bethesda, MD and worked at the National Institute of Health. She served as a mental health clinic administrator and as a manager of the credentialing and contracting unit at Magellan Behavior Health of Columbia, MD.
Tony and Kari’s primary objective in hiring care providers is hiring only those people they, themselves would welcome into their home. She and Tony have three sons, Hayden, Cooper & Jarod.

Tony Mau - Owner
I’m Tony Mau. I spent 22 years in the Corporate world before finding my calling in Home Care. I was inspired by my mother in law to start this business after she spent time in our home after a hospital stay. As I explored options for her returning to her home, I struggled finding answers to my questions revolving around her comfort and safety. I now insure anyone with questions about staying in their home gets the needed information to make an informed decision. My wife, Kari and I live in Elk Point with our dog, Dozer. We have 3 grown children. Hayden, Cooper & Jarod.
Laurie Bruggeman - Office Manager
My name is Laurie Bruggeman. I spent 35 years working in Corporate America. I was involved in insurance, investments and trust. As I began working for Right at Home, it seemed fitting, as my then 92-year-old mother was determined to keep her independence by living in her own home. It’s been challenging and rewarding trying to make a difference for those who strive to live on their own as long as possible. It is an important mission to me. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, sports and spending time with my family. My husband, Bruce and I have 3 fantastic grown children. Tyler, Brad & Britney.
Roberta Hindberg - Director of Nursing
I am Roberta Hindberg. Prior to joining Right at Home, I was an assisted living administrator for 9 1/2 years. I have been an RN for 20+ years and recently obtained my Bachelor’s Degree and felt it was time to get back to direct patient care as this is my passion. Right at Home has been a perfect fit for my busy family. My husband Chad and I live in Tea and have 3 children Kimberlee, Hayden, and Emmalee. When we are not working or attending football, volleyball, or basketball games; we enjoy traveling, watching movies, playing games, and doing crafts.
Heide Haas - Scheduling Manager
My name is Heide Haas. I am the Scheduling Manager at Right at Home. Before I accepted a position here, I had the privilege of being a stay at home mom for 13 years. I also attended college for social work. I married my high school sweetheart and we eventually settled our family in Brandon SD. I have four wonderful children who keep me busy with soccer and other activities. Spending time with my family and being a soccer mom is how I enjoy my spare time.
Kimberly Kolar - Task Manager
My name is Kimberly Kolar and I am the Task Manager at Right at Home. Before joining this team, I worked in the childcare industry for 23 years in various roles of teaching and managing. Most recently as a Director. I attended school for Social Work, Psychology and I am a Behavior Specialist. I was born and raised in Sioux Falls and chose to raise my own family here. I have four amazing children and a grandmother to five. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, my two huskies and watching sports.
Shawn Johnson - Regional Director
My name is Shawn Johnson. I am the Regional Director for the South Territory of Right at Home. Previously, I worked in health care for over ten years as CNA. For seven years, I was a business owner of a retail store. My undergraduate degree is from USD in Vermillion, in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Social Work and Psychology. I have lived all over the country and currently reside in South Dakota with my husband. My free time is spent with family, friends, and our pets.
Tracie - Regional Director
My name is Tracie and I am the Regional Director for the North Territory of Right at Home. Prior to this position I was a caregiver/scheduler for an In Home Care agency for 24 years. I absolutely love to help people in their homes and truly believe it to be my calling. I live on a farm north of Egan SD and have 5 amazing kids and a great husband! I enjoy gardening, golfing and being on the lake. I am very proud to be a part of this TEAM.
Maggie - Client Care Manager
I am Maggie Chambers. I am the Client Care Manager for Right at Home, I have worked in healthcare as a Certified Nurses Aide for 15 years and love being a caregiver. I have worked in nursing home settings, hospice, assisted living as well as home care. I attended South Dakota State University in Brookings and obtained a graduate degree from Colorado Tech in Sioux Falls. In my free time I enjoy gardening, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors.
Patty - Chaplain
My name is Patty Larsen. I am a Chaplain with Right at Home. My previous work as a school counselor and hospital chaplain nurtured my passion for responding to the needs of the whole person. Life is a journey, and no one should feel alone as they make their way. I find it a great privilege to journey with and support others wherever they find themselves on the path of life. My own journey is shared with my husband Todd, our four children, their families, and many great friends. In my spare time I enjoy tending plants, tending souls, and tending grandchildren.
To achieve our vision we:
- Provide dependable, compassionate caregivers who care for your family like their own
- Maintain an ongoing dialogue with our clients’ family members about their loved one’s individualized care plan
- Review each client’s individualized care plan regularly to ensure that our services match our clients’ changing needs
- Respond in a timely manner to referrals for homecare assistance from case managers, social workers, and other healthcare professionals in our community
- No one wants to leave their home. We hope to make them comfortable there for as long as possible.
