Caregivers often say, one of the hardest parts of dealing with dementia, Alzheimer’s and other memory loss is the absence of normal interactions they once had.
Memory cafes are a break from the routine. It’s a place for caregivers and their loved ones to gather for conversation, games, activities. It could be considered a purely social outing. It’s a place to go where others are dealing with similar issues. You don’t have to apologize, be embarrassed or explain at the Memory Café. The Memory Café aim is to restore normalcy and fun to caregivers and their loved ones.
