West Central Chicago's Best Care Team

Right at Home West Central Chicago Owners Jim and Kathy Wojciechowski

Jim and Kathy Wojciechowski - Owners

Kathy and I were in the Semiconductor business with Kathy working for a major local semiconductor Sales Rep firm as their Distributor Sales Manager and myself as a Major Account Salesperson. In 2001 there was a big shift in manufacturing to outsourcing and the exodus of the entire industry to Mexico and off shore. Kath and I knew the inevitable was coming and we needed to reinvent ourselves. Kathy's brother happened to go through the same experience in 1999 and became Right at Home's very first franchise owner covering all of Lake County Illinois. So we looked at each other, and asked what are we going to do the rest of our lives? Kath said she wanted to do what her brother was doing, taking care of our Senior and Disabled Communities. She said that she had been blessed with so much in her life that she wanted to be able to give back for the blessings she and I have received. So Kathy and I opened the doors to Right at Home West Central Chicagoland in October of 2002.

Kath and I have achieved what we set out to do. It's a business of the Heart. We've been blessed with a caring staff, and a tremendous group of compassionate, reliable and trustworthy caregivers. Our goal as always is to serve the Senior and Disable Communities with the same care and compassion that their families have for their loved ones actually becoming a part of the family network. It's been a tremendous gift and honor to serve our families.

You can also listen to us talk about aging at home with our co-hosts and individuals within the community on the Silver Solutions radio show every Tuesday morning at 9:30AM on AM1410 WRMN or via Facebook live it is a very informative show, with guest and solutions for our journey's through our Golden years.

Jeanie Madden

Jeanie Madden - Client Care Manager

Originally from Michigan, I moved to Illinois in 1999 where I met my husband and have been happily married for over 11 years. We have 2 adorable and special German Shepherd/mixes named Bandit and Bear. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading books, bike riding, and watching comedy movies. I love to find new places to dine since I was not blessed with a single cooking gene

Working with Right at Home to assist the disabled and elderly has been a life fulfilling journey. I started as a scheduler before all the high tech gadgets, cell phone reminders, on-call assistance, etc. and was able to see how much care and assistance can impact the lives of many. It is very humbling to help an elderly person and brighten their day, to listen to their stories of days gone by, and to know that someday I may need help too. I find it an honor and privilege to meet veterans that have fought for our country to give us the liberties we have now and that some take for granted. I value and appreciate how our services can impact the lives of many family members and give a little relief to everyday challenges that occur when a family member is ill or at end of life. Our work makes a huge difference in the lives of others. As I age myself, I realize that life can change in a moment and we need to make the most of each day.

Diane Rhinerson

Diane Rhinerson - Staffing Coordinator and Scheduler

I was born and raised in Illinois and have lived in the St Charles area since 1995.  I did not meet my soul mate now my husband until later in life as I was 41 when we married.  There is a funny story about how we met, it was on an annual camping trip that both of us have gone on many times and quite possible been there at the same time we just did not know each other then. We were introduced to each other by a mutual friend and my now sister in law.  We joined our families in May of 2001 his 2 daughters and my son and now have 5 wonderful grandchildren and 6 grand dogs.

People have always told me that I have a big heart and are great at taking care of everyone.  My past position for 16 yrs was in HR and payroll, I was always the go-to person whether it be the name of someone, a phone #, the date of a certain event, I always had the answers.  After taking care of my mother whom had two brain surgeries, my mother in law with cancer and my hubby after several surgeries a mutual friend of many years told me to call his buddy at Right at Home and in May of 2014 I started at Right at Home as a Caregiver.  After being in the field with clients and spending some of my time in the office for a bit I gave up my role as a Caregiver and moved to the office recruiting new caregivers and filling schedules for our clients.  I truly enjoy speaking with our clients, hearing their stories and helping them.  It is heartwarming to know that we can put a smile on their face and help to brighten their day!

Athina Houston

Athina Houston - Caregiver Supervisor and Scheduler

Originally from Albany Oregon, I moved to Illinois two years ago with my husband, daughter, two dogs and our cat. We relocated for my husband’s job as an engineer. I started my career working in group homes with individuals with learning disabilities, where I worked with clients ranging in age from 10 to 65 years old. While there I worked my way up to assistant manager. After a while, I needed a change and looked for a job closer to home. I started working at Brookdale Senior Living working strictly with Seniors in the assisted living community. Started off as an RA, then after two months moved my way up to Med Tech. Within six months I got promoted of Business Office Manager where I stayed for two years until I relocated to Illinois. While working as the Business Office Manager I still worked directly with all the residents daily, filling in when needed.

When I moved to Illinois, the plan was for me to stay home for a while and get out daughter settled. Within two weeks I missed working. I drove by a Right at Home, went home and applied and got a call right away. I started as a part time caregiver. In August of 2017 I was asked if I would like to come work in the office as a scheduler. Since coming to the office, I still make it a priority to work one on one with our clients. I go out and do supervisor visits, train new caregivers when needed. I've always had a passion for helping others and seeing the smiles from our clients to the hugs and laughs make it all worth it.
