Vernon and Grace Atwood
Owners
My name is Vernon Atwood and Grace is my wife of more than 20 years. We have two teenage daughters, Jessica and Jacqueline. Orange County and Southeast Los Angeles County has been our home for more than 20 years.
Both Grace and I have been in the healthcare field for 50 years combined! My Mom was an RN and I was always drawn towards healthcare. I chose this field right out of college. I was also a long-distance caregiver for my mom and understand the challenges that come along with that experience. We are fortunate that Grace's parents are still at home, happy and independent.

Ky Garcia
Nursing Advisor
Kylene is our Quality Care Director and has been with Right at Home Northwest Orange County for five years. She has held an LVN for about 6 years. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Health Sciences with an emphasis in community care. Additionally, she obtained a certified her RCFE (Residential Care Facility for the Elderly) administrators’ certification.
Prior to working at Right at Home and her nursing background she worked in mental health. She worked in a residential mental health facility and worked on the dual diagnosis unit. After leaving that job she became a caregiver while she waited to take my Vocational Nurse State Boards. After completing her state boards she continued to work with Right at home as a training coordinator. She took about a year off where she worked in hospice and home health care. She started out with us after she graduated from LVN school, as a caregiver. After she received her license, she has held positions in multiple in-home care, home health, palliative and hospice care.
Kylene returned to Right at Home as Training Manager and has become our expert on Dementia care and has taught on many subjects, mostly those that impact families and caregivers taking care of the elderly. She teaches items such as infection prevention, dementia (different forms), depression/ mental health in seniors, nutrition, caregiver burn out, skills training: bed baths, making occupied beds, oral care, pressure sore prevention and other common issues that we see in aging adults. Currently she is preparing to be an Education Ambassador through the Alzheimer's Association of Orange County where she will teach classes to various communities in Orange County.
When she was doing clinical's she realized that those with Dementia were treated differently than those who did not have dementia. After seeing that she wanted to work on making with client's who have dementia easier. She tells us that she appreciates working for a company that places high priority on raising awareness for Dementia. She recently started partnering with Alzheimer's OC to become an Education Ambassador.

Elizabeth Castillo
Training Coordinator
I have been working with Right at Home since September 2019. I Attended Whittier college and graduated in 2018. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in pre-medicine.
Before joining Right at home, I worked as an internet sales representative.
On my spare time, I would volunteer at our community recreation center where I would teach sports to the youth. This experience provided me with an opportunity to become the women’s basketball head coach at Alhambra High School. I really enjoyed being a role model for the youth community, which is why I decided to get more involved in our community. I want to contribute and make a positive impact not just in our youth community but also in our senior community. That is why I join Right at Home, to be a part of something great! I believe that home care is a great opportunity to establish a strong relationship with our seniors and provide a safe and positive environment.
I was first a caregiver before being a Care Coordinator. My role as a care coordinator includes scheduling, training caregivers, and establish a safe and positive environment for our seniors and caregivers.
