Frequently Asked Questions
Our office always tries to provide consistency with our caregivers and clients. Depending on the days and hours requested, we will work with the families to have the desired number of caregivers in the home. We will also have back-up staff in place for emergencies but will only send the back-up caregiver in if the family approves.
Our goal is to establish a long-term caregiving relationship with your loved one. Should your family want to request another caregiver for any reason, we'll search for a match until your family is happy. We understand that a strong rapport and trust with a caregiver are vital to a successful in-home care experience.
If your loved one receives care for many hours in a day or at different times of the day throughout the week, it may be necessary to schedule more than one caregiver in a given week. If your family requires multiple caregivers, our goal is the same: We want you to be satisfied and happy. We'll do what it takes to make sure we achieve that goal.
Yes, as a NYS Licensed Agency we have a full time Registered Nurse on staff. Our RN is allowed to pour medications for our clients if requested.
Our caregivers can also assist in reminding individuals to take their medications. In fact, medication reminders is one of our most requested services. We can also report any side effects and assist with premeasured medication packages.
Right at Home uses several tools to track the care our caregivers provide. We have a very detailed, high-tech clock in/out system through Clearcare. Every shift is checked and verified with timestamps and location tracking. Clients are also able to review every invoice before processing to eliminate any errors.
Every family we serve receives a custom care plan specific to their needs and budget. There are factors help determine the exact cost:
- Number of hours of care per week
- Level of home care services received (nonmedical, skilled nursing, etc.)
We offer two types of services, Hourly and Live-in. During our free assessment, we will go over the differences and provide you with information about many organizations that we work with that may subsidize the cost of home care. We will try to be very conscious and respectful of your budget. We have contracts with Long-Term care, the Veteran’s Association, the MS Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Association and other groups that may help defray the cost.
As a NYS Licensed Agency, we are fully covered by almost all Long-Term Care policies. We would be happy to provide a free review of your insurance information. Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover non-medical in-home care.
We also work with reimbursement programs like Veterans Aid and Attendance, a benefit paid to veterans and surviving spouses who require our services; the benefit is in addition to their monthly pension.
Right at Home goes to extraordinary lengths to protect your personal and health information. We are 100% HIPPA complaint and will never share any health or personal information without permission. We adhere to all applicable federal and state guidelines related to privacy of personal and health care information. This starts once we have a formal service agreement, before a caregiver even comes to your family member's home. The written service agreement stipulates the exact restrictions on the use of your information, which clarifies that unauthorized individuals will not be given access to information without a client's or their legally authorized representative's formal consent.
Your information is never sold to a third party under any circumstances. In fact, only the office personnel and caregivers who are directly involved in your service will have access to information related to the care of your loved one.
